Souldish NYC Events February 14 - 16 2013

These are my Souldish picks. It looks long but there’s only a few events listed here.  All hand picked just for you. Enjoy!  No table of contents but basically it’s Evolver’s The Future of Love this Saturday; Nadya Peeva’s Integrating Contemporary Mysticism into an Evolving World, also on Saturday. Nadya always has the most interesting and thought provoking events, well worth attending.    Tomorrow is Kostume Kult’s Valentine’s Day party. They are known for their sexy turnout and wildly fun costumes.  If you like a little wet fun, Gemini and Scorpio hold the absolute best Steamy Russian Bath parties ever.  Then there’s Christopher Peter VanderEssen’s United for a Culture of Peace Through Interfaith Harmony at the UN on the 14. I’ve also listed a new Permaculture Workshop by our beloved Andrew Faust.  What an amazing community we have. Right?  I love it!

Peace,

Salma xoxo

Integrating Contemporary Mysticism in an Evolving World, Feb. 16-18, NYC

A message from my good friend Nadya Peeva:  ”Hello Friends, I wanted to let you know about a rare event in NYC this weekend. Thomas Hubl is a contemporary mystic whose message is fresh and authentic, and has profound implications for how we live and interact within one-on-one relationships and broader communities. In all my questing and searching, I have never seen anyone inquire quite as deeply and openly into the energetic dynamics that occur within us and as we engage with others in a variety of contexts.

Hubl is back in NYC this Sat-Mon, Feb. 16-18.  Details are listed below. You can attend the open morning part of the weekend on Saturday morning or register for the entire 3-day event. Below I have listed a few audio files/videos and an article to give you a sense of his work.

I personally feel that his message is very significant and very needed today. It leads me to deeper understanding and awareness of the energetics between myself and others and helps me come into a more awake and responsible way of being in relationship and allowing the fullness of life. I hope to see some of you there!”

Integrating Contemporary Mysticism in an Evolving World, Feb. 16-18, NYC

What does a modern path of mysticism, beyond the traditional image, look like?  And which path can we take in order to unite the power of the traditions with the evolution of life?

"A modern mysticism always carries the Timeless Wisdom within but it also acknowledges that the outer life continues to develop. We need answers to contemporary questions. God, or the sacred space or the mystic depth dimension, needs a place again in our society.  If we give this priority in our life everything else will follow. We can then establish an economy and science, a political program and an education system that are aligned with universal principles that support life."  "In the postmodern marketplace we are faced with complex global topics of rapid scientific and technological developments. We need new prospects in order to creatively deal with the demands of life. We want to understand and comprehend life more deeply, as it is only when we are in touch with life on more profound levels of our self that we will receive answers to these questions."

"Mysticism motivates the poets, inspires the great scientists and many seekers who sense that there is a call of their soul to do all that they do in order to recognize this unity within themselves. The beauty of mysticism lies within this love. Mysticism is the love to God. Mysticism is the love to the One. Mysticism is what fills our heart most deeply and expresses the longing to the profound unity, the deep connection with God within us."

(Thomas Hübl)

Over the course of 3 days, we will be guided to relate to life at this profound mystic level, where we will learn the art of clear listening to our inner mystic wisdom.  During the workshop we will explore contemporary mysticism in relationship to scientific and technological developments. We will explore a path which attempts to unite the power of spiritual/religious traditions with this evolution of life. Come with questions and learn how to receive vibrant resonant insight to address these paramount questions of our day, consciously integrating a mystic understanding into our being and meeting these demands of present day, with authenticity and aliveness.  Thomas Hübl is a contemporary spiritual teacher of uncompromising clarity whose work reveals the enlightened potential of a new form of humanity that he calls a ‘we-culture’, accessible to us all.

There exists a very strong, but one-sided and thus untrustworthy, idea that in order to understand a foreign culture, one must enter into it, forgetting one’s own, and view the culture through the eyes of this foreign culture. This idea, as I said, is one-sided. Of course, a certain entry as a living being into a foreign culture, the possibility of seeing the world through its eyes, is a necessary part of the process of understanding it; but if this where the only aspect of this understanding, it would merely be a duplication and would not entail anything new or enriching. Creative understanding does not renounce itself, its own place in time, its own culture; and it forgets nothing. In order to understand, it is immensely important for the person who understands to be located outside the object of his or her creative understanding — in time, in space, in culture. For one cannot really see one’s own exterior and comprehend it as a whole, and no mirrors or photographs can help; our real exterior can be seen and understood only by other people, because they are located outside us in space and because they are others.
